The house was built in Ostrovo village center in the first half of XIX century. It is located on a flat terrain and is set – back in relation to the street.
This is a ground floor house with a cellar and a few rooms: “the house“, three rooms, a hall and a room that resembles a closed doksat. “The house“ is a central room with two fireplaces which served for heating the other rooms. It is specific that there is still a back door on “the house“. Originally it presumably had an open porch with a doksat above the entrance to the cellar, but at some phase this space was closed.
The house has a rectangular base and dimensions of 12.60 x 6.60m. The foundations are made of crushed stone in mud mortar, the walls are made in half – timbered construction with “chatam“ composite. The ceilings in the hall, “the house“ and the guest room are made of “shashovac“ while in other rooms they are made of “kolenik“. The four – sloped roof is covered with tile.
By its size and functional spatial organization, this object belongs to a rich type of a village house. This object does not exist today.
